About IECG Volunteer Activity

Since 2015, we have organized our students as well as students from highly regarded high schools in China, to travel to poverty-stricken areas around the world to teach children in need. Currently, we are assisting several orphan schools in India and Nepal. We hope that through the efforts of our volunteers, the children in the orphan schools will have access to the best education possible. We guide our volunteers to continue to help the children and to improve their abilities in all aspects of a liberal arts education.

India Volunteer Activity

Our volunteering school in India, the Joybells School, is located at the foot of the Himalayas in the city of Dehradun in northern India. It was founded in 2003 by an Indian veteran SS and his wife Joy. At present, there are 25 orphans in the school, from grade 3 to grade 10. In addition to the principal couples, only the Northfield Mount Hermon School team and our IECG team go on campus to teach the children each summer and winter. Our volunteering school in Nepal, the Sanlyansthan Secondary School, is located on the outskirts of Kathmandu. The school was built in 2011. In addition to a three-story main building, there are three temporary steel-built classrooms. At present, there are more than 100 students in the school, from the preschool to the 9th grade. There are about 10 local teachers as well as the occasional volunteer to teach these children. For details, please click on "Learn More".

More Volunteer Activities

We are actively seeking out more schools in poverty-stricken areas around the world, such as the remote areas of China, Sri Lanka, Southeast Asian countries, and South American countries. We hope to partner with more outstanding volunteers to help our children whom are eager to learn. Please check our website frequently as it is often updated with further details.
